Ecology Week

The Maltese Association for the Study of Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship, in collaboration with Carmelite Institute Malta, the Faculty of Theology, and Għaqda Siġar Maltin, organised the first Ecology Week between 13 and 17 December 2019. The guest scholar for this event was Rev. Dr Eduardo Agosta Scarel, an Argentinian Carmelite who holds a doctorate in Climate Science and lectures at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Zen Meditation

On Friday 15 November 2019, the Maltese Association for the Study of Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship (MASC) held its first open public event: a Buddhist-Christian dialogue entitled ‘Philosophical Interpretation and Daily Life in the Way of Chinese Zen Buddhism’. The MASC is a newly founded association of alumni of the Master programmes in Spirituality and in Spiritual Companionship offered by our Faculty.

On Friday 14 June 2019, our past and present MA Spirituality and MA Spiritual Companionship students officially launched “The Maltese Association for the Study of Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship”. Elections were carried out to nominate the five members of the Executive Committee.

First Meeting

The first meeting was held with the intention of founding an Association for Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship alumni, starting a long arduous process which would find its culmination eighteen months later with the official launching of MASC in the premises of the Carmelite Institute Malta In Mdina.
