October 22, 2025 MASC Uncategorized

The Maltese Association for the Study of Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship (MASC) is holding a Supervision Session for its members on Friday at 6:00 p.m. This session continues the work initiated in last year’s meetings and seeks to develop a reflective supervision framework to support spiritual companions and directors in their ministry. Through shared reflection and dialogue, participants will explore approaches that nurture personal growth, deepen discernment, and strengthen the practice of spiritual accompaniment.

All members involved in spiritual direction or companionship are warmly encouraged to attend and contribute to this ongoing process of formation and mutual support.

Spirituality Events

October 18, 2025 MASC Forthcoming Events

This year, there is a great deal happening locally in the area of Spirituality. After careful reflection, the MASC Executive has decided that rather than adding further to an already rich calendar, it would be more meaningful for us to collaborate and participate in the many valuable programmes and events being offered by our partners.

As always, MASC will continue to organise workshops for practitioners in Spiritual Companionship during the year. These will provide spaces for growth, reflection, and mutual support in our shared ministry.

On September 25, the MASC Executive was invited by the Department of Moral and Spiritual Theology within the Faculty of Theology to meet with Prof. Donna Orsuto from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Dean of the Moral & Spiritual Theology Department. Prof. Orsuto has served as examiner for dissertations and as an invited lecturer in the MA in Spirituality programme. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to share insights on the study of spirituality and spiritual companionship, while also exploring potential avenues for collaboration. Prof. Orsuto kindly extended an invitation to MASC members to participate in the forthcoming Academic Symposium commemorating Dorothy Day.

You can read more about this meeting on the Faculty of Theology’s Facebook page: View the post on Facebook

Prof. Orsuto kindly extended an invitation to MASC members to participate in the forthcoming Academic Symposium commemorating Dorothy Day.

In the meantime, we are pleased to share with you:

  • The attached Events Programme on https://www.istitutkarmelitan.com organised by the Carmelite Institute Malta, with whom MASC actively collaborates.
  • An invitation to participate in the Tolkien Round Table, organised by the University of Malta’s Faculty of Theology with whom MASC is a stakeholder in the MA Spirituality and Spiritual Companionship Programmes. Those interested are also welcome to contribute as speakers. You can find more information here: Tolkien Round Table. Send your queries to: tolkienroundtable@gmail.com
  • “A Pilgrim of Hope: An Academic Symposium on the Legacy of Dorothy Day” hosted by the Pontifical Gregorian University. More information and registration details are available here: Dorothy Day Symposium.

We warmly encourage all members to register and take part in these events as part of your ongoing spiritual formation and engagement with the wider spiritual community.

With every blessing,

The MASC Executive
